In our exploration of Milan Design Week, documented in our trade fair report (BOTH), we not only witnessed the bow gracing the runways but also discovered its presence in the opulent fabrics and draperies of interior design. Luxurious jacquards, eco-friendly plastic curtains, and dazzling silver drapes, adorned occasionally with a bow or cord, created stunning theatrical backdrops.

Brutalism is an architectural movement that emerged in the 1950s-1970s, characterized by rough, unfinished aesthetics and the prominent use of concrete as a building material. It derives its name from the French term "béton brut," meaning raw concrete. Brutalist buildings are monumental, displaying strength and robustness, with expressive forms and an emphasis on functionality and the relationship with the environment. Although initially criticized, it is now appreciated as architectural heritage and has influenced other disciplines.

Last weekend I went to Schiermonnikoog. A delightful island located north of the Netherlands. Beautiful weather, empty beaches, and lovely walks. Clearing my mind for new creative ideas, with the assistance of AI, to transform them into inspiring visuals.

This week, I've employed AI to generate images that are connected to the forest, trees and leafs. And of course, to interior design ;-)

Unleashing Imagination

Over the past few months, I have found myself utterly immersed in the mesmerizing world of AI-generated images. Every spare moment is dedicated to exploring the vast realm of possibilities that it offers. It's an addictive journey, where I delve into prompts, experiment with different commands, and draw inspiration from the remarkable creations of others. It's worth noting, however, that achieving the desired image isn't always immediate or guaranteed. Yet, it's in those unexpected surprises that I find true inspiration. The serendipitous outcomes, which I never could have imagined, have a way of captivating me for hours on end.

In this exploration, I often find myself navigating the delicate balance between fantasy and reality. While AI offers seemingly boundless potential, there are limitations to what can be realistically produced versus what remains purely inspirational. To guide my creative endeavors, I have established personal "frameworks" within which I work. Sometimes, I choose to explore a specific color palette as the overarching theme, while at other times, I draw inspiration from natural elements, seeking to create visually pleasing compositions.
